Canoe the Whanganui River

Multi-day trips, freedom hire or guided. You choose!

Welcome to Raetihi and the start of your Whanganui River journey. We are based at the Raetihi Holiday park, from where our river trips depart.

Your hosts are Ben and Rebecca, whose aim is to make your trip on the Whanganui River an amazing experience.

Ben and Rebecca are the only canoe hire operators on the Whanganui River who own a Holiday Park, so be assured of a comfortable night’s sleep in our range of accommodation options the night before your trip.

After meeting at the Park you will take a shuttle to whichever canoe destination you have chosen. Your cars will be securely parked at the base (for free) while you are paddling on the Whanganui River.

Enjoy a free warm shower, drink, and snack when you get back to base after the trip.

Talk to us about your paddling experience and we can help you choose the most suitable trip.

2/3 hour Whanganui River Road Paddle

Leave the rest of the world behind and experience peace and tranquility as you drift down the river towards Jerusalem. Your shuttle will be waiting to transport you back to Raetihi.
